Hello! I’m Julia and welcome to my joyful kitchen! I started this blog to share my love of cooking and baking and I hope to inspire! I am from Oakville, Ontario. Cooking, creating new recipes and letting food inspire me is my real passion.
My love of food started at a very young age. When I was three I found out I was allergic to dairy and back then being dairy free was not as common as it is today. If you can imagine, my mom and I had to drive to a specialty store in the hospital just to be able to buy dairy free products! This was not a short drive either. It was very rare, if not impossible, to find dairy free baked goods or pre-made meals and eating out was almost not an option. This meant that little me was cooking and baking up a storm since a very young age! I learnt how to substitute dairy in any and every recipe. Baking became one of my favorite things to do. After all, a kid has got to have their sweets, right? It took a little more effort to enjoy a home cooked meal, but it was so worth it! As well as not being able to have dairy, three years ago I developed a gluten sensitivity. This taught me even more about substitution and combination of ingredients to create something healthy and incredibly mouth watering!
I have graduated with Honours with my Basic Cook Diploma and am currently in school studying holistic nutrition! As I said above, my real thirst in life is to be able to cook, create new recipes and share them with all of you! It has always been my dream to have my own cookbook and open up my own bakery one day. I hope to share my passion and joy with everyone and take you on this amazing journey!
